Make Great Coffee and Save Plastic

!±8± Make Great Coffee and Save Plastic

Keurig K-Cups are an increasingly popular way to make coffee. These single serving cups make just one cup of coffee rather than having to make an entire pot, which has made them a favorite among a wide variety of consumers. Not only do they save you from having to make more coffee than you need, they make it possible for everyone to have their personal flavor or preference. For example, if you are having coffee with people who prefer flavored coffee while you would rather have a plain cup, K-Cups make it easy. There is also the fact the coffee never sits around in the coffeepot, so it is always fresh and delicious.

Keurig K-Cups are used with single cup Keurig coffeemakers to produce single cups of coffee. The makers and K-Cups are both available online as well as at groceries and other retail stores. You may even find K-Cups for sale at coffee shops, so if your favorite coffee shop does this, you can enjoy single, fresh cups of their coffee at home any time you like.

However, there is a downside to K-Cups, which is that disposable single cups of coffee can mean a lot of waste. While Keurig does its best to adhere to environmentally friendly business practices, single cups are potentially problematic. One solution to this waste is to reuse your cups using reusable caps or plastic wrap. Plastic wrap is cheap ut something like the hard plastic caps you can use allow you to reuse the cup as many times as you like. Simply empty out the coffee grounds, rinse the cup, add new coffee, put on the lid and brew another cup of coffee.

You don't even have to get rid of the grounds. You can put the coffee grounds in a compost pile, or even spread them right on your plants. They are full of nutrients for your plants. Speaking of plants, when you have reused the disposable K-Cup as many times as you can, you can even use them as starter pots when you garden.

Another use for the empty cups would be to put paint in for kids' projects. They can be rinsed out and reused. You can stack them up and store them with the rest of the painting supplies. Or, you can use them to separate out other small things for other craft projects. You will have to tap the hole in the bottom.

Reusing Keurig K-Cups is a great way to reduce your impact on the environment and save money at the same time. Even though the cost of a K-Cup is usually only about fifty cents, it can add up quickly if you drink coffee regularly. Reusing your cups with something like the My-Kap lets you make single cups of your favorite coffee, but costs far less than buying a new K-Cup every time.

Keurig K-Cups are one of the easiest ways to make a great cup of coffee. When you brew a cup at a time, every single cup can be perfect. Disposable coffee cups mean a lot of waste, but with a little creativity you can repurpose your old K-Cups. You'll enjoy great coffee while cutting back on waste at the same time.
